If you are asking how long you would test positive on a drug test if tested for percoset, then the answer is between 2 and 4 days. For methadone the answer is at least a week. Both answers are irregardless of how long your pain relief from either medicine will last. Be very careful taking escalating doses of methadone as this can be fatal even 48 hours after your last medicine ingestion due to suppressed breathing, especially if the drug is mixed with alcohol or tranquilizers.

Would these type of painkillers get rid of the pain when one is on a methadone maintance program. Say I needed a surgery; methadone is not good for pain at all, so would a painkillers such as oxycodone work for pain? I know the methadone will prevent one from obtaining a high due to cross tolerance. But for pain...??

if its been twelve hours or more then u shud be fine. . . . depending on how much methadone u took. just dont take anything stronger than a perk. also see if u can get subutex (not suboxone) instead of methadone because that will help with withdrawl but then if u have a leg pain or something u can still take a perk to help ur leg pain. k hope this helpd
Over one year period I started on 55mg of methodone, got down to 5 and then cold turkey, I started feeling really sick so I started taking a couple perk 5 (2 every 6 hours ) to give me alittle relief. Is this a stupid thing to do or will it make it more timely and difficult in the end.
Percocets are very addictive. You should maybe ask your pshysician for Suboxone. They are very affective for weaning off of opiates.
My husband has been on percocet and methadone for about 21/2 yrs now..He had to go to the emergency room last week and they did a urine test on him..His test came back negative for any of his medications...Why did none of his medications show up in his test,,,He takes his med everday..He is a disabled veteran and gets his treatment from the VA...Seems like they are so strict about everything,,But anyways is there any food or anything that makes a urine test negative for percocet and methadone...Now when he goes for his refill this month they may not give him his medication, and he really needs it...Is there anything that will make a urine test show negative for these medications...Please any answers or suggestions..Thank You...

Methadone - Negative & Percocets only produce a positive urine for 24hrs when taken in doses greater than 100mg or less than 100mg if taken before the test. So if he is on methadone for pain and is on <40mg and <100mg Percocets then there is enough reason for a negative test. They need to do an Immunoessay to test for the metabolite left behind when the drug breaks down. You can also request a "face dose" for a couple of days so they can see the test made an error.
