I am taking a drug test soon and need the drug Methadone to come back in my pee. Can I place a small amount, a even shaving into my pee sample and it show up on test Methadone or does the body metabolize it differently if orally taken and will only show up that way? And how much to pinch in pee?
Am not a heroin addict am asking for a friend who is on a pain contract with a hospital and prescribed Methadone for pain but also uses Pot for pain and am not supposed to or will be cut off. So I thought of using someone elses pee and putting methadone in it to hide the pot in my system.

If someone is prescribed methadone, will it be possible to tell if they use heroin by doing a drug test?
YES! I work at a Pain Care Physician and we drug test our pt that we are prescribing medication to ALL THE TIME! Methadone is a pain medication and is only given to heroine addicts to cover up withdraw symptoms its not actually a form of heroine!
Does it show up as "an opiate" such as Hydrocodone or Percocet or Oxycontin... or does it specifically show up as "METHADONE"? The drug test will be performed at a pain clinic, and will be a urine test. Thank you so much for your kind, tactful answers.

Methadone isn't an opiate, it is an opioid. It shouldn't show up as a positive for opiates. Most drug screens specifically look for a breakdown product of methadone.
If I take a oxycodone drug urine test to detect oxycodone only will a lortab show up on it? Or a methadone? Or if I take a methadone test will oxycodone or lortab show up on that one?
They are all opiates but Methadone shows as Methadone
Oxycodone as oxycodone, and hydrocodone as hydrocodone.

In the beginning Federal regulations state they will test you once a week. Then after you have been there 90 days with no violations you are tested once a month. At my clinic they told me during the first 2 weeks your body is adjusting to the Methadone & they are slowly increasing your dose so they expect a period where you still may be taking a few opiates to relieve the pain. They ignored a positive opiate result during the that time. I took some Oxycontin during the first week. This worried me even thought they said it was normal because I was afraid it meant the Methadone was not going to work. Week 2 came & everything changed. After 1 year and 6mo. I am still clean, have not touched the first opiate and I even have cancer now. So, hang in there....it works!

Drug tests generally produce false-positive results in 5% to 10% of cases and false negatives in 10% to 15% of cases, new research shows.
Eating as little as a teaspoon of poppy seeds -- less than the amount on a poppy seed bagel -- can produce false-positive results on tests for opioid abuse, says Dwight Smith, MD, of the VA Medical Center in Black Hills, S.D.
The poppy seeds can lead to false-positive results for two or three days, he says, yet one recent study showed only about 50% of doctors were aware of the problem.
Knowing the tests' limitations is crucial given that about 150 million drug tests were conducted in the United States last year, he says.
"We drug test everyone, our students, our athletes," Smith says.
Also, many private and federal employers require regular testing, he says.

PORTSMOUTH — Police arrested a city man Monday night and charged him with multiple crimes including felony robbery and endangering the welfare of a child, only a week after he received a plea deal in district court that freed him from jail.
According to police, Alan Danielson, 31, of Cross Roads House, allegedly assaulted a clerk at the Sunoco gas station at 766 Lafayette Road around 10 p.m.
In her affidavit, officer Nicole Mercer said Danielson was passing by the Sunoco and allegedly saw his wife hugging the station’s attendant. He went inside and confronted them, then, according to Mercer, assaulted the clerk, destroyed a credit card machine and printer and took $70 from a box behind the store’s counter.
Mercer’s affidavit further alleged Danielson committed the acts in the presence of his three-year-old son, who he later slapped across the face when he was at Cross Roads House. The child did not sustain serious injuries and was released to his grandmother, police said.
