I can not sleep at night and racked in painful back spasms. Anyone done this and can give me some encouragement that it will soon be over?

does anyone notice that heroin withdrawal symptoms r worse at night? also does anyone know any ways to help me feel better besides using methadone and stuff, like natural things that will help flush my system quicker so i won't be in so much pain? im crawling out of my skin!!! and i know, i know...im not the first, its my fault, i need help and there may be nothing that can help...but...i'd really appreciate it if anyone who has gone thru withdrawal had any advice for me? thanks
I have not, but my ex mother in law has. Niacin. You can get it as a supliment in pill form, and it helps detox your body. Also try cranberry jiuse, not cocktail, but the straight juice. It has certain enzemes that help to detox. As far as night time goes, take a hot bath, and just do your best to relax. Every night you get thru is one more closer to when you'll feel better! :)

So people can never fully come off from heroin without the help of methadone? Are they then addicted to methadone forever? What do they do for a person at a methadone clinic? Can you die from heroin withdrawals???
my brother was a dope fiend,...he said getting off methadone was harder than kicking heoin cold..............
watch the movie "basketball diaries: to see how that crap can hurt!
methadone is a replacement for the heroin to keep you from getting dope sick while trying to kick-but it is less than ideal

The withdrawals from methadone addiction take 3 times longer than for heroin (3 weeks against 5 days), and are more painful. I suspect that methadone is preferred simply because it does not give such an intense high as heroin. The medical profession seem to think that getting their patients hooked on a much worse drug is acceptable just as long as no one actually gets high.
Perhaps their interests are more puritanical than medical.
The responses so far seem to miss the point - I am commenting on the hypocrisy of prescribing something more dangerous (methadone) to 'treat' a something less dangerous (heroin), for reasons of moral convenience (no high to get guilty about, and easier maintenance). Isn't this simply unethical? One of the basic tenets of the hyppocratic oath is: "above all, do no harm". This gets conveniently forgotten about when dealing with what society deems "self inflicted" problems such as addiction.
Yes I agree but think they prescribe it because they can monitor the patients intake (not that it works though)
Besides having been a highly efficacious agent in the treatment of heroin withdrawal, methadone's long half-life makes it a very useful narcotic for the treatment of chronic pain (many pain managment experts find it equieffective to Oxycontin.
If you can help me with the the history of Dolophine's development, I would greatly appreciate if you can explain why we shouldn't do experiments on unborn children if they are sub-human?
Lastly, since the Nazis felt that Jews were subhuman, what's to ensure that modern Feminists don't find men subhuman as well? What sort of experiments would you perform on men prior to eradicating us since your doctrine clearly regards men as subhuman (not unlike a Sprague-Dawley rat)?
*Please note that waiting for evidence of genocide isn't a prudent thing to do. When one smells smoke, it's best to assume there's a fire.
Rainbows: Methadone used to be the standard for heroin withdrawal until the inception of the benzons. With benzos, the cocktail is essentially as euphoric as heroin, so it's just hard to get off methadone. These days, suboxone is pretty much the standard for heroin detox. Methadone when used in a pill preparation is a terribly potent, long acting analgesic, just as good as OC. I know this from clinical expertise and personal tragedies in my own life. When DEA was scrutinizing every script for OC, most pain management specialists were perfectly comfortable wirting for equianalgesis quantities of Methadone solid and that patients did extraordinarily well. Probably the most potent analgesic we have that's Sched II is Fentanyl, and in 72h transdermal release, it's about as potent as it gets but is contraindicated in the post operative setting. It's ideal in patients with chronic, intractable pain, e.g. carcinoma.
The question still remains, how was Doliphine researched and on whom
I heard the withdrawls from methadone are pretty bad too. Also this drug will be used on adult so wouldnt make more sense to test it on adults?
The Difficulties of Determining a Drug Overdose Death
In a case in Wichita, Kansas which has garnered national attention, Dr. Stephen Schneider and his wife, Linda, the local doctor-and-nurse team are accused of running a large-scale "pill mill" and dispensing prescriptions that led to the drug-related deaths of 68 patients. Prosecutors allege that the Schneiders illegally prescribed large amounts of powerful painkillers for profit, with little regard for patients' safety. The defense, along with some former patients, argue the Schneiders provided sound and compassionate care, and that the deaths were due to underlying conditions or dangerous choices by addicted patients.
The couple's trial, which has been ongoing since April, has once again shed light on the increasingly sensitive issue of prescribing high doses of opioid medications for pain. Opioids (drugs such as fentanyl, oxycodone and hydrocodone, which the Schneiders prescribed), which are crucial for the welfare of pain patients, especially at the end of life, are unfortunately better recognized as addictive drugs associated with overdose death.(See Ledger, Heath .) And although the popular perception of these substances is in many ways misguided , cases like the Schneiders' highlight the dangers of prescription-drug misuse.

Trainspotting, as much as I love Danny Boyle and as much as I think it's an entertaining movie, is a load of trash. You don't feel like your head is in the toilet because you can't even lift it from the fucking pillow. There is a definite romance with the drug, but you'll be hard pressed to find serious addicts who run in crews. It's a lonely drug favored by lonely people. I'm a heroin addict. I've been clean just shy of 8 months now, the longest I've been clean in nearly a decade. I might relapse, I might not. It still takes a shitload of effort to not call one of the numbers engraved onto my brain for a quick afternoon pick-me-up. I don't know where I'm going with this.
