Are there any alcohol abuse treatment centers in Toledo, Oregon? We have this assignment about alcohol abuse and I really want to do well in it. Alcohol abuse is a very sensitive topic for me because I lost my brother Nate because of a car accident wherein the designated driver was an alcoholic. I want to find out as much as I can about alcohol abuse not just because I want to receive good grades but because I want to learn more about it in order to spread an awareness regarding the negative effects of alcohol. It breaks my heart every time I hear a story like that. I really don’t approve of drunk driving myself because my bestfriend almost died because of a driver who was secretly drowned in scotch. I loathed the driver for risking other people’s lives! I do hope you do well in your assignment. If he has been drinking consistently and heavily the last thing he should do is stop on his own. This can be very dangerous. Get him to a hospital if you feel he needs to and will go. Otherwise, the first thing a treatment center will tell you is for him to take a drink if he feels he needs one. They will give him the proper medications to help him detox once he is there.

Does anyone remember that commercial from the 80's for a drug and alcohol treatment center? They used to run the commercial constantly (at least in Southern Cal), I think the place was called Schick or New Beginnings. What was the name of the song that played in the background during the commercial? It is a very famous classical piece that sounds a lot like Canon D (the wedding song) but it's not. They used it in the A&E show "Intervention" the other day so it appears to be synonymous with addiction and treatment. If you know it you're a genius!
I haven't heard it myself but it is probably J.S. Bach's "Air on a G-String" (I'm serious). Many people get those 2 pieces of music confused. It also might be J. S. Bach's "Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring."
